Ultra Glam Vanity

Belle Maison has a gorgeous collection of vanities but this one stopped me dead in my tracks. I love the idea of vanities and this one screams 1930′s screen siren. Someone who has a limo waiting downstairs just to go to lunch with an old friend.

Sweet Yarn Holiday Wreaths

Aaaah! I am a smitten kitten for Itz Fitz!’s yarn wreaths on Etsy.  So many wreaths are made from cheap-o plastic materials and melt together in an ugly sea of orange dye. These sumptuous designs throw a splash of whimsy that announces “Someone with a great deal of quirk and light heartedness resides within.” I want to buy one for every door in the house.

How delightful would it be to greet this season’s trick-or-treaters with this Halloween wreath? I simply adore how the soft grey creates a moody sky for the moon and bat to soar.

Although he is not the bird of choice for the holiday, I’m loving this little owl-argyle design for Thanksgiving. And really, it kind of screams back to school doesn’t it? Both argyle and owls have such a wonderfully brainy reputation.

Decorators, Start Your Engines

Autumn is, without a doubt, the best season. I love creaking open our cedar chest to pull out cashmere sweaters and throwing the windows open to welcome the cool air after a sticky summer.

To celebrate, Mr. Covet and I decided to throw a Halloween party. And by decided, I mean we had a convo that went pretty much like this:

Me: HEY! We should totally have a Halloween party this year!
Mr. Covet: Sure!

Halloween competes for my heart with Thanksgiving as The Best American Holiday. Turkey is great but tiny people in costumes asking for candy while I sip a hot cider with bourbon? It’s hardly a fair fight.

This year is extra special for us as it’s our first Halloween in the new house, we may actually get trick-or-treaters this year (they abound on the Hill but not to condo buildings), annnnnd we have our very own Baby Covet to dress up. She is too young to have a real opinion about her costume so we have free rein to do as we please.

And in the meantime there is much, much to covet with the season. Happy ogling!
